02. Timing
The first edition is being planned around Zar the Star's Chicago shows on October 23–24, 2026. The goal is simple: preorder now, receive your shirt before the shows, and show up wearing it.
This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in partnership with any performer or venue.
03. The point
Afghanistan is bigger than the Taliban.
It's poetry, food, music, four thousand years of arguing about whose grandmother made it better. A regime does not get to be the whole story.
This is a shirt that says the quiet part out loud, for Afghans in the diaspora, for the people still there, and for anyone tired of watching a country get flattened into a headline.

04. The artwork
The original “Fuck the Taliban” graphic was created by Jalz, a Persian poster designer based in Tehran, Iran. This project exists around that artwork. It isn't a reinterpretation of it.
If the first run moves forward, Jalz is credited on every piece and compensated for the design. No artwork gets printed without that in place.
Organized by AJ Bonassin, Chicago-based writer, brand marketer, and Afghan community advocate.
05. Community
This project is about making space for Afghan voices, culture, language, humor, and community and refusing to let the Taliban become the only story the world associates with Afghanistan.

06. Preorder list
We're testing interest before producing the first run. Leave your email to be notified when the preorder opens.
07. How it works
We're testing interest before committing to production. The first run will be produced based on actual preorder demand, so supporters can help determine whether this project becomes a reality.
Pricing, deadlines, and any future partners or beneficiaries will be published here before a single preorder is charged.
